Martina Dorn,Director

Martina set the school up and is in charge of the academic and support staff. While she does not teach very often anymore, she is an experienced EFL teacher. She completed the Cambridge CELTA in 2000 and spent 2 years working for a private school in Portsmouth. She was then appointed as a lecturer at Chichester College; during her 6 years there, she developed professionally and acquired the Certificate in Education and Cambridge DELTA. She is currently undertaking a distance learning MA in Education (Leadership and Management) and is due to complete it in September 2010. Martina is an active person who enjoys running, skiing and windsurfing.



Francis Michael Garrett

 

 Teacher Michael worked as an IT and math teacher in a number of educational establishments (Basingstoke College and St Edmund’s School in Portsmouth), before he decided to take a sabbatical in Argentina. He completed his TEFL training there and when he returned to the UK, he worked for Lewis School of English before he was appointed at PELS as a teacher. Michael is a versatile teacher who enjoys new challenges and is keen to learn new skills. He tries to keep fit, is a Liverpool FC club fan appreciates culture.



Laura Bell

Teacher Laura qualified as an EFL teacher by completing the Trinity Certificate in TESOL. She has had a number of summer teaching jobs and after finishing her full-time contract with Meridian School of English in Southsea, Laura joined the PELS team. Laura works full-time at PELS and teaches General English courses. She takes her teaching duties very seriously and cares about her students’ progress and welfare.



Guy Robinson

Teacher Guy is a teacher with a very broad range of experience in the EFL field. This includes ESOL, mixed ability groups, various age groups and Business English. Guy gained his Cambridge CELTA in 2004 and before his appointment at PELS, he worked at Isle of Wight College and Education First. Guy is a member of the IELTS team. He experiments in his teaching and likes to utilize technology and online resources.



Vicki Saunders

Teacher Vicki acquired her Cambridge CELTA (Grade B) at Chichester College in 2008 and fitted in well within the existing teaching staff. She is currently undertaking a distance-learning BA (Honours) in English Language and Literature and Diploma in Applied Linguistics. She has a great rapport with her students and achieves excellent results with low level learners. She devotes her free time to her studies and children.



Laura Sarubi

Teacher Laura is originally from Argentine but has lived in the UK for some time. She has links with the Anglia Examination Syndicate for whom she worked as a marker and invigilator. Laura had an English teaching job in a state school in Argentina for eight years but she fancied a change and moved to the UK. She completed the Cambridge CELTA course at Chichester College in 2008 and achieved Grade B. She is a very conscientious teacher and her students have 100% success rates in Anglia exams.
